Over the course of the six classes in January, February and March, we will read and discuss together extracts from Rabbi Shapira’s short book which in Hebrew is called “B’nei Machshavah Tovah” and which has been translated into English as both “Experiencing the Divine: A Guide to Jewish Spiritual Practice and Community” and “Conscious Community: A Guide to Inner Work”.
Written in the 1930’s for his students, this book is a guide for adults who live in the ‘real world’ on how to organise and run a spiritual community. It was discovered after World War II in the ruins of the Warsaw Ghetto and was quickly accepted as a classic of Jewish spiritual literature.
