NA’ASEH VE NISHMAH - “We will do and we will hear” (Exodus 24:7) - From Sinai to Today

You are invited to join us for our annual Tikkun Leyl Shavuot North London three-community evening of study and celebration.

This year Sha'arei Tsedek will be hosting the annual Tikkun Leyl Shavuot evening which we share with our near neighbours Finchley Progressive Synagogue and Southgate Progressive Synagogue.

The theme is "Na'aseh ve Nishmah" - "We will learn and we will hear" - the children of Israel's response to Revelation, the giving of the Torah. This appears in Exodus 24:7—and our scope will be 24:7—24 hours, 7 days a week: the whole of everyday life, with a focus on practical Jewish skills.

Throughout the evening we invite you to a wide variety of short ‘taster’ sessions exploring the ‘how-to of Jewish life’ including:

  • Beginners’ Hebrew—getting started
  • Study a page of Talmud
  • Warden’s Bootcamp
  • Become a Shiva prayer leader
  • Jewish Meditation
  • Your first voice lesson!
  • Bar/Bat Mitzvah tips - for parents
  • Guitar music in the synagogue

The above are just a sample of the planned ‘taster’ sessions– other options will be on offer.
